For the first time in the country’s history of participation, 12-year-old singer Artem Kotenko from Akhtyrka has won the “bronze” medal and dedicated it to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an annual singing competition for children aged 9 to 14 years old, organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). This year, the contest was held in Gliwice, Poland, and featured 19 talented young performers from different countries.
Representing Ukraine with his powerful vocals and emotional performance, Artem Kotenko captured the hearts of the audience and the judges with his song “Vidchynyay” (Open Up). The song, written by Artem himself, is a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers of the AFU who defend Ukraine’s sovereignty and freedom.
Despite his young age, Artem’s passion for music and dedication to his country shone through his performance. His powerful voice and stage presence impressed the judges, earning him a well-deserved third place in the competition.
In his post-performance interview, Artem shared his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. He also expressed his admiration for the AFU and their sacrifices for the country, saying, “I dedicate this bronze medal to our soldiers who are fighting for our country. They are our real heroes.”
Artem’s heartfelt dedication to the AFU touched the hearts of many, including the Ukrainian delegation and the audience. His message of unity and support for the brave soldiers resonated with the values of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which aims to promote peace and friendship through music.
